Terms and conditions Simplon Hostel

Check-in is between 16:00 hours and 22:00 hours. If you are expecting to arrive before or after the check-in times, please let us know in advance. After 22:00 we have the right to give your room/bed to another guests. Charges apply according to our cancellation policy.

1. We do not accept guests who:

• • Do not have a permanent residence.
  • Are drunk, aggressive, racistic, sexistic or violent.
  • Do not have a valid ID.

2. The following rules apply:

• • Smoking is prohibited inside the hostel. (€ 50,- fine). There is a designated smoking area in the courtyard.
  • The use and trade of prohibited substances in and around the hostel is forbidden. This includes marijuana.
  • It is forbidden to carry weapons.
  • Pets are not allowed in the hostel. With the exception of guide dogs.

Prostitution is prohibited in the hostel. Any guest who is found to be in violation of this rule will be removed from the hotel.

3. Simplon Hostel sells alcoholic beverages:

• • In the dormitories the use of alcohol is prohibited.
  • The use of alcohol is only allowed in the lounge, inside the private rooms and in the courtyard.
  • Excessive use of aclohol is prohibited. We reserve the right to confiscate any alcohol and to deny further consumption.

4. Fire and safety regulations:

• • It is not possible to prepare hot meals in the dormitories or in the private rooms.
  • In the rooms only the use of the provided watercooker is allowed.
  • Misuse of the firehose or fire extinguisher leads to a € 250,- fine.
  • Disabling or misusing safety equipment leads to removal from the hostel. This includes: Smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, fire doors, control panels.

5. Privacy:

• •  There are camera’s in and around the hostel. When you arrive on the premises you agree to the making of recordings. These recordings are only used in case of suspected criminal activity.
  • We strive to protect and respect your privacy, we do however hold the right to enter your room at any time.
  • We will handle your personal information in accordance with the AVG (Dutch law concerning personal information).

6. Behaviour:

• • Please respect the other guests. Between 23:00 and 7:00 the hotel is a quiet place.
  • We will handle your personal information in accordance with the AVG (Dutch law concerning personal information).
  • If you have complaints, remarks or need help you can come to the reception at any time.

7. Damage to property and missing property:

• • Any damage to property of Simplon Hostel will be charged.
  • Simplon Hostel can not be held accountable for theft or damage to personal property inficted by third parties or for injury to guests by third parties.
  • After check-in you are required to check the room for possible damage and report this to the reception. After check-in you are responsible for the room and any damages.

8. Cleaning and check-out:

• • Check-out is at 12:00
  • During cleaning (between 12:00 and 16:00) you can not check in.
  • You can store your luggage in our storage area, on your own risk.
  • Please check the rooms for your property before you leave.

9. Admission

• • Admission to the rooms and dormitories is only for guests of the hostel and hostel staff.

10. Please follow instructions given by hostel staff:

• • In case of calamity, fire or other unforseen cirumstances please follow instruction given by hostel staff.
  • In case of inappropriate and unwanted behaviour we can remove you from the hostel.
  • We can decide to bar you from entry to our hostel and deny you access in the future.
